Why Praia dos Caneiros Is Special?

Praia dos Caneiros is a small beach (around 200 m long), yet it seduces us with its beautiful scenery and tranquility. It is located in a cove flanked by high cliffs to the west and east, so it is tucked away from the elements. It is known for its signature attractions: the towering solitary rock cutting into the water and the breathtaking Ponta do Altar lighthouse, which is just to the west of Praia dos Caneiros.

Praia dos Caneiros, formerly Praia de João Belbut—her spouse of a landholder, is now one of the old locals and vacationer options. Blending the peace of a hidden beach with proximity to amenities in Ferragudo, it is ideally located for a day visit or overnight stop.
